Congratulations!

Four of Viv's students have successfully completed levels of English since the last edition of the Newsletter!

Congratulations to Maira who passed the pre-intermediate level in July, Magda and Roberta for passing the intermediate level in June and last but not least, double congratulations to Juliana Caetano, for both passing the upper-intermediate level in May and for the birth of her daughter, Coral, in July.

Welcome!

Viv would like to offer a warm welcome to Cristiane, Fernanda Jaguaribe, Leticia, Manuela and Marcela, who have recently started English courses.

Welcome back!

It's always great to see ex-students again. Viv is happy to welcome back Cristina, who stopped having classes in June 2005 after completing the intermediate level, and Verusya, who interrupted the pre-intermediate level in November 2005. Viv hopes to be able to help both students to complete the next level of English.

Good luck!

Viv would like to wish the best of luck to Patricia Cunha in her new job in Norway, and to Liana, who will be working and studying in London.

He also hopes that everything goes well for Marcia and Walter, who have terminated their courses.

Happy Birthday!

Birthday greetings to Vel (24th Sept.), Juliana Martins (4th Oct.), Cristina Cadore (22nd Oct.) and Marliana (21st Nov.).

Holidays

Viv will not be working during the National Day weekend (7th-9th September) or Our Lady of Aparacida (12th-13th October).

However, the weekend of the 'Day of the Dead' (Finados - 2nd & 3rd of November), he will be working normally for those students who would like to have classes.

Course news

All Viv's students have personal copies of his Vocabulary and Back of Notebook Database computer programs. If you want  to revise, test or add words to these programs, you can download your database from Viv's web site. For the program to work you must have Microsoft Access on your computer. The download link now includes the date of the last time Viv uploaded your database to his site, so you can check if you have the latest version. If you want to add more expressions to the program, go ahead. However, when you've finished, send Viv a copy of your updated version, so that he can check your work for mistakes and update his copy of your database.

Features

The feature for this edition of the Newsletter is part of an article which appeared in the jobs supplement (Boa Chance) of the Globo newspaper in February this year. It's about intensive English courses abroad. You can read the rest of the article on Viv's site at:
