her course in 2007 and is planning to restart classes.

I would like to wish Claudia (16th Feb.),
Fernanda (14th March), Maira (28th March) and Luciana P (22nd April) a very
happy birthday.
Cost of classes
Once a
year, Viv readjusts the price he charges for classes to try to cover
both inflation and rent increases. Therefore, in 2009 the cost of classes will
be (contact Viv for details) per hour.
Holidays
Viv will be on holiday for the Carnival from
the 21st to the 26th of February. The Easter holiday will be from the 10th to the
12th of April, and he will be taking a long weekend from the 18th to the 21st
of April (Tiradentes). This year, May the first falls on a Friday, so Viv won't
be working this weekend either.
Course news
All Viv's students will be doing a back of
notebook test over the next few weeks. The top five scores will win one of
Viv's t-shirts! If you want to see what they look like, you can see a photo on
Viv's web site (click on the 'photos' link in 'The Teacher' section. The
t-shirt is in the fifth row of photos from the top). In order to be fair to all
my students, your score in the test will be multiplied by the number of years
you have been using the same notebook. If you have been using your notebook for
two years, your score in the test will be multiplied by two.
If you have a 'Net phone', you can call Viv
free of charge during the day (he switches off his internet connection at
night). His 'Netphone' number is: (contact Viv for details).
Don't forget that if you haven't completed
homework and it is written in red in your notebook, you will not be able to
cancel your classes in advance without charge. You can find Viv's homework
rules in the conditions for classes link in the same section on his web site as
the photos.
Student of the month
Myt first student of the month for 2009 is
Renata Estafan, who works for a travel company and needs to use English at
work. She started classes in May 2008 and, with hard work and good class
attendance, she has made excellent progress. Well done!
Features
On page 2 of this Newsletter
is a list of student Vocab. and BON test results in 2008. The final column has
your average in all the tests you took last year. I hope to see less 'F's this
year.... PLEASE!!!!
