Welcome

Viv would like to both welcome and wish Vilma good luck after her short preparation course for life in the USA.

Welcome back!

Viv's is very happy to welcome Renata P back again after the long break in classes.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lucimar, who got married in May.

Good luck!

Viv would like to wish the best of luck to Elisangela and Patricia A.

Happy birthday!

A late happy birthday to Cleo, who celebrated her special day on the 4th of May. The same goes to Lucimar (4 June) and four of Viv students who celebrate their birthdays in July: Fernanda C (3rd), Lilian (5th), Tita (17th) and Fernanda M (26th). A very happy birthday also, to Mariane (17th Aug) and Bruna and Luciana, who will be celebrating on the 1st and 4th of Sept respectively.

Holidays

Viv will be taking a long weekend for the Corpus Christi holiday this month, so He won't be teaching from the 30th of May to the 2nd of June. The Pope will be in Rio on the 25th of July, so there won't be any classes on this day, and this year, Independence Day (the seventh of September) falls on a Saturday, so this will also be a holiday.

Course news

Viv would like to thank Lucimar and Luciana for 'Mark', who is Viv's new teacher's assistant (the blue duck). :-). Viv has decided to return to exactly the same conditions for classes that his students agreed to when they came for their initial interviews. You can see these conditions on Viv's web site at the following link:

http://vivquarry.com/teacher/admin/price.html However, he will be applying these rules for all his students from now on, so if you only have one class per week, check with Viv about what this will mean.

What's new on the web?

Did you know that Viv's web site (the internet address is at the top of this Newsletter), has lots of the worksheets he uses in class? There are also sections of the site with links to other sites which may help you test and improve your English. The site gets visitors from all over the world and Viv is quite proud of the result of a lot of hard work put into setting it up!

Student of the month

My student of the month for this edition of the Newsletter is Paty Reis. Since starting classes with Viv she has worked very hard on improving her English and her class attendance has been excellent. Well done!

Features

On page two of the Newsletter this month are the vocabulary and back of notebook test results for Viv's students in 2012. If you are still having classes with Viv and got an average score below 12 it means that you need to spend more time revising for these tests. Studying for both the vocab. and back of notebook tests will help you improve your English a lot.
