I wish everyone a very happy Easter. Viv will not be teaching during the holiday.

Congratulations!

To Melissa, who is getting married to Marcio on the 27th April, and to Paula Costa on her engagement to Felipe.

Happy Birthday!

Viv wishes Patricia and Isabel a very happy birthday for the third and eighth of April respectively. I also send birthday greetings to Elaine for the 14th of May.

Good luck!

I hope that everything goes well for Luis Fernando, who has finished his course with Viv.

Welcome!

A warm welcome to Cristina Turnes, who works at Coca-Cola and has re-started an upper-intermediate course after a one-year break in classes. I would also like to welcome Cristina Rebelo, who has recently started a pre-intermediate course.

Viv isn't very happy!!

As anyone whose job involves meeting people knows, there's nothing more annoying than when you arrange to meet someone and they don't come.

It's even worse if they don't give you any justification for not showing up. Every one of your classes is an arrangement made between you and Viv, and he is waiting for you arrive! Most of my students are very reliable and always ring or send an e-mail to let him know if they won't be able to come to class. However, a few students have got used to cancelling classes without warning the teacher. From now on, cancellations without warning will be listed in your bill as 'NO SHOW', and if you do this more than six times in any twelve-month period, your course will be suspended for one week. Two suspensions in any month will result in your course being automatically terminated.

Just let Viv know before your class is due to start if you have to cancel a class the same day due to an emergency at home or at work. Cancellations on the same day will be charged in full, but at least Viv won't have to worry about what has happened to his students.

Student of the month

Melissa Lemos is currently doing a doctorate in information technology at the Catholic University.

She has been having classes with Viv since September 2000 and has reached the end of the intermediate level.  Considering the fact that she only has one class a week, she has made exceptional progress in improving her English and is now able to write with few mistakes.

Features
